Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Power BI Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Power BI development, analytics design, data modeling, and report performance optimization. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance Power BI reports and dashboards that support business analytics and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Power BI reports and interactive dashboards.
• Translate business requirements into effective analytics solutions and reporting designs.
• Develop optimized data models, including star schema, relationships, measures, and calculated columns.
• Build and optimize complex DAX calculations and Power Query transformations.
• Connect Power BI to multiple data sources, including SQL Server, Azure data services, and enterprise data platforms.
• Optimize report rendering time, data refresh performance, query execution, and overall dashboard responsiveness.
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), workspace access controls, and appropriate data governance practices.
• Troubleshoot report performance issues and ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end analytics solutions.
• Follow Power BI development standards, deployment practices, and documentation requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in Power BI report and dashboard development.
• Expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), data modeling, and SQL.
• Experience designing analytics solutions and translating business needs into technical reporting requirements.
• Proven experience building and maintaining high-performance Power BI reports for large datasets.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration.
• Experience with performance analysis and optimization using Power BI Performance Analyzer, DAX Studio, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of Power BI Service, semantic models, scheduled refreshes, gateways, workspaces, and deployment pipelines.
• Experience with Row-Level Security (RLS) and enterprise reporting security.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure data services, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or enterprise data platforms.
• Experience with Power BI Embedded and large-scale enterprise reporting.
• Knowledge of capacity planning, report usage monitoring, and Power BI licensing/capacity considerations.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
